"In appreciation of the Vancouver makers & suppliers who generously contributed to feature at Vanglo, Gaile and Laura proposed a "pop-up event concept" to help further leverage everyone's contribution. In an effort to show what it would mean to live and invest in Vancouver. This concept was a collaboration with special event catalysts Leonie Hörster and Yashar Nijati of This Open Space, as a first of many more special events to come. An exploration of creating a non retail environment focused on the mission to create a real life experience. Creating a memory that is less focused on the easily forgotten result of disposable consuming."

It's not every day when we see such ambitious projects come our way. Shifting change and perceived values within existing challenges of current economics isn't easy. It takes those who are willing to take risks to really make a difference and be the leaders of our future who carve the path ahead of us. Admittedly I'm timid when I see angles yet this home brought new insight as we learned more about the project and the brilliant minds behind making such projects exist. An architecturally driven home that reflects the outcome of a challenging site brought a vertical punctuation of geometry to at East Vancouver neighbourhood.

Standard timing for our team to curate and style interiors typically takes a min of 4 weeks was condensed into a 1 week lead time. In order to make this deadline work, our team needed to think creatively as to how we could make this project be meaningful to everyone involved. We believe that the Vanglo House should resonate with the design community and function as a beautifully curated space that tells a narrative about Vancouver Modernism and truly embodies the essence of Vancouver. A modern palette that reads authentically west coast and is demonstrated through the use of high-end, thoughtfully made product that communicates a strong brand message to potential buyers. We feel that positioning the Vanglo House as a curated pop-up space is a mutually beneficial proposition to involve local stores and makers in the furnishing of the space. By collaborating with local suppliers, the idea is that the project benefits from a lower furnishings budget while still being able to showcase innovative, high-end products, allowing the suppliers gain from the exposure of their wares in the project.

Our goal was to align ourselves with the vision of bringing this special project to the market the way it deserves. This home seeks the homeowner who understands the value of living in a community they want to participate in. An admirer of the unconventional with an unwavering respect of the Vancouver urban landscape.

135East17th represents what we hope to see more of, the vision of a developer willing to create a new caliber of building where focus is less on disposable trend focused real estate. With a world filled with the temporary and the many buildings now forgotten, it is critical to our future that people learn what it means to be a part of our sustainable future. This home isn't for everyone rather this home is for that special homeowner who wants to build a life they want to remember. Walking distance to great schools and in convenient proximity to a growing community of amazing restaurants, shops and amenities - 135East17th elevates the meaning of what it looks like to own a home in Vancouver.

In collaboration with an amazing design team and the creative talents of our local makers and local retailers, we present to you a carefully curated interior that celebrates what it means to know where you come from. A select of the finest of artisans, artists, galleries and shop owners ... 135East17th is the beginning of the storytelling for what we believe it means to live with only surrounding yourself with what you love.
